What is Santa Paws?
The Santa Paws program began at Hospets in 2015. The seniors involved in the program are registered for the program by social workers, activity directors, veterinarians, friends, etc. Hospets provides a wish list for each senior and their pet. How does the program work? Information about a senior we are sponsoring will be posted at Santa Paws Adoptees 2023 on SignUpGenius. Information will include the name, age, town, and needs of the senior and their pet. The estimated cost for gifts is $30-$100+. You may want to share your adoption(s) with co-workers, friends, or family members. Teaming up with others is a great way to lessen your financial burden. Where do I sign up? The online registration is powered by SignUpGenius and is a quick and easy way to select a person to sponsor. Simply go to our sign-up page, find the person you’d like to sponsor, and select Sign Up! You will need to use a valid email address when signing up, which will allow you to make changes to any of your sign-ups and receive an email reminder before the gifts are due. If you want to participate, but prefer to remain anonymous, please contact [email protected]. I’ve purchased my gifts, now what? You may opt to deliver gifts in person or have the gifts shipped to the recipient. We do ask that you let Hospets know when gifts have been shipped or delivered so we can be certain no one has fallen through the cracks. If you can get pictures, please share them with us! Some people like to continue helping their senior throughout the year and that is perfectly fine. |
Do you know of a senior citizen with pets? Are they struggling to make ends meet and they could use a little help this holiday season?
Please submit a Santa Paws assistance request for your senior citizen in need of a little holiday cheer. We will also assist low-income seniors, age 60+, without pets. Hospets will match them with a person/or family interested in “adopting” a senior for the holiday. With your help, we can send the senior a gift box of goodies to help them and their pets. Please tell us a little about the senior, their pets, and their situation. All we ask is that you try and send us a picture of the senior with their Santa Paws gifts. We do need to know specific items, sizes, colors, etc. Please no generic requests for gift cards. Seniors must be 60 years of age or older and live in Central Ohio. There is absolutely no cost to you or the senior. Note: Santa Paws submissions for 2023 are closed.
